In TreasuryDirect, you can buy and maintain savings bonds, Treasury bills, Treasury notes, Treasury bonds, Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), and Floating Rate Notes in accounts with the U.S. Treasury.
Account numbers start with a letter and are in this format:*

- To ensure delivery of TreasuryDirect information to your e-mail account, please add "Treasury.Direct@fiscal.treasury.gov" to your address book. To see whether previous messages from us were blocked, check your e-mail account's Spam folder (also called a Junk or Bulk folder).
- TreasuryDirect does not provide paper securities or paper account statements. To get a paper copy of your account information, use your browser's toolbar to print the pages you need.
*If your account number starts with a number rather than a letter, your account isn't in TreasuryDirect. Our older program Legacy Treasury Direct uses account numbers in the format 1200-345-6789.
