CORRECTION OF UNAMORTIZED DISCOUNT REPORTED
IN THE SEPTEMBER 2009 MONTHLY STATEMENT OF THE PUBLIC DEBT

The Total Unamortized Discount figure reported as $43,506 million is incorrect in Table II (Statutory Debt
Limit, September 30, 2009) of the Monthly Statement of the Public Debt of the United States.  The correct 
figure for Held by the Public Unamortized Discount as of September 30, 2009 should have been $23,369 million
and the Total Unamortized Discount should have been $43,799 million.  The Intragovernmental portion of
Unamortized Discount was correctly reported as $20,430 million.
